Community Service

Encompassing one of the three pillars of LBSA, Community Service has a significant impact on our members and our neighboring communities. Made from different remarkable members, the LBSA family exemplifies how community service and, along with our two other pillars, academics and social, represents a well-rounded student leading to the professional and social growth they obtain. It illustrates how one’s life should also consist of giving and helping those in need while helping shape the world and community we live in for the better.

Second Harvest Food Bank

In January 2019, we volunteered at the OC’s Second Harvest Food Bank for the second time in the 2019 academic school year to help package donated food items in their distribution center.

All the packaged goods were distributed to families and individuals in need in Orange County to stop hunger and create a future where no one goes hungry. Ever.

Adopt-A-Family Holiday Project

In December 2018, LBSA participated in the Raise Foundation’s Adopt-A-Family Holiday Project. There we organized gifts for families in need throughout the City of Orange.

Miracle Babies 5k Walk/Run

Miracle Babies’ founding purpose is to support these NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) families by providing need-based financial assistance to low-income families through our Family Assistance Program. By helping to address some of the financial barriers that keep parents away from their new baby (transportation, groceries, and child care costs), we help moms, and dads get to and from the NICU more often, increasing rates of breastfeeding and Kangaroo Care, a skin-to-skin practice.

Professional

Today, we stand as college students. Tomorrow, as young professionals. The transition between both inter-correlated stages is essential for the development of every individual. Here at LBSA, our professional pillar strives to make sure your transition is as smooth as possible. Our founders have passed down the torch to us, and we are to provide professional guidance that will help our members with their career paths.

Our executive board works hard to provide our members with various workshops, conferences, network opportunities, and guest speakers. One of our biggest conferences of the year is known as the “Professional Development Conference.” PDC is an afternoon filled with workshops and hands-on interactions with an abundance of professionals in their respective fields. Remember, the only person stopping you from reaching your professional peak is that person in the mirror.

In addition, the students participated in a networking portion where they practiced their skills with hosting companies.
